Toasting Flutes
Who’s supposed to buy the cake knife and toasting flutes?
I feel silly asking, but is this traditionally something you’re supposed to receive as a gift from someone? Or is it just fine if my fiance and I go out and buy them ourselves. I noticed that a lot of people have them engraved, and that seems like something you would do when you give someone a gift – which is why I’m unsure. I’d hate to buy a set and then receive one from someone later on.

I don’t think anyone is ‘responsible’ for giving them to you. My mother-in-law paid for ours as a gift, but it certainly wasn’t expected. She’s just a sweetheart like that
