Entry fee for wedding?
I am interested in having my wedding at Stewart Beach in Galveston. However I just realized that there is a $8 entry fee for each vehicle. Would you go to a wedding if you had to pay, and how should I include that they have to pay on the invitations?
I would go. I had a destination wedding at Yosemite National Park. There was a $20 entry fee per vehicle for a week. We included that information on the insert giving them instructions on how to get there and the hotel we had special rates at. So we had additional fees to tell them about anyway since 90% of the people that wanted to come needed a hotel anyway.
In your case, a simple note at the bottom stating, “Please note there is an $8 fee per vehicle upon entry to Stewart Beach.” That’s all you should have to do. Honestly, if you were getting married in a big city downtown they’d probably have to pay for parking themselves so it’s not that bad.
If you feel extremely awkward about it and can afford it then try to work something out where they flash their invitation and get entry. If there is a ranger or someone there taking money they could keep track so that you could pay up later (or prepay). You could also have one or two guests (younger cousin or sibling) that don’t have any other official duties to stand out there with a bunch of cash. When a guest arrived they could pay for them and give the guest the ticket.
