Number each jar using magic marker and get a healthy supply of tasting spoons like the ones at your local ice cream shop. Have the guests pass around the food, taking a taste, and guessing about the type of food in each jar. Of course, you could also have a tasting competition among a couple of the guests and even one of the parents-to-be.
If you want another game idea that’s easy and doesn’t take much material, consider buying some yarn and having the guests cut off pieces to estimate the circumference of the mother-to-be’s tummy. Hopefully, she’ll be a good sport for the game and won’t be too upset when she sees the size of that winning string.
Another Baby Game Idea
Some shower games start at the beginning of the event and go through until the end. For example, you could have a specific word that no one is supposed to say during the party, such as “baby.” When each guest arrives, give her or him a clothespin. If the guest says the word and one of the other guests points it out, that guest gets the other person’s clothespin. At the end of the babys shower, the guest with the most collected clothespins gets a prize.
When it comes to the baby shower game, fun and creativity are more important than having expensive prizes. That’s something else to keep in mind.
