Old wives tale about wedding cake under pillow?
When I was young, I attended a wedding. And after the reception was over…the wedding cake was cut into tiny slices and put into boxes. Then they were passed out to all the girls and we were told to put them under our pillows and we would dream of our soul mate. Was my Aunt on Acid or is this common?
I forgot to mention the guy I dreamed of that noght. He was in a light blue suit (70′s style) and he had a bald head but hair on the sides and a mustach…I was ten years old and thought “great, my soul mate sucks!”…no cake on the bed…it was a sturdy little box

Another theory dates back to the eighteenth century, when it was traditional to pass out small pieces of the wedding cake through a wedding ring whose owner was happily married. Victorian bridesmaids would practice this ritual on the eve of the wedding. They would wrap the pieces and, on the day of the wedding, would give them out to all the unmarried guests. These unmarried women would then place the piece of wedding cake under their pillow in order to dream about a future husband. This same custom also dates back to nineteenth century Southern tradition, when the same process was followed.
