Christmas Crafts with Tulle or Nylon Netting?
Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone has any “Easy” Christmas crafts such as ornaments using Tulle, Ribbon, Lace ans a glue gun.I also have green netting and peach and ivory lacy material. I’m trying to use up some of my supplies and I’ve run out of ideas. I greatly appreciate any ideas.
• Kitchen – make pot scrubbers for no-stick pans or good china plates that are hand washed.
• Gift bags with layers of tulle, the lace and ribbon. A nice gift is a gift of reusable gift bags that can be brought out each year.
• Make bows for gifts, and add the other materials to dress them up.
• Create hair accessories for little girls.
• How about bath puffs? These could be much more luxurious than the ones sold in the bath & body area of drug stores. Gather several layers and stitch together. Crochet a chain to hang up in the bathroom to drain after use.
• Gift wrap. Nylon netting makes a great substitute for a gift wrap or as the lining in a gift basket.
• Mesh bag. A cute mesh laundry bag can be made by cutting the fabric into two equal sized pieces. Sew the edges of three sides and attach a zipper to the top. Small, all purpose pouches can also be made using the same pattern – simply cut to desired size prior to sewing.
• Toy hammock. Make a simple toy hammock in the corner of your child’s room using a yard or two of nylon mesh. Gather at ends and secure each end to corner walls in your child’s room. The “hammock” will easily hold stuffed toys and other lightweight items. For a sturdier hammock, use two sheets of nylon net fabric.
• Decorate. Drape tables, chairs, stair banisters, etc. with nylon netting and ribbons to add a decorative touch to any festive occasion. A mosquito-net styled canopy is easy to attach to any four poster bed.
• Garden. Nylon netting may be used in the garden to shade plants or protect from garden pests. Create little nylon ‘caps’ for the gardener in the family to protect delicate plants in the spring from being munched on by bunnies and deer.
