At the moment I use Regalice Sugar paste (for my coloured items) – but I find the consistency of the black is very poor. I made a Groom figurine and even though I used dowels, as the evening wore on (whilst I let him dry and finish the bride) slowly but surely he shrunk. He was at least an inch shorter than when originally I finished him. I find the other colours are great. I have made my own black, but it takes a lot of colour to get the depth of black. Are there any other good brands available? Or has anyone else even had this problem?
I originally found the problem when I made a Henry the Hoover cake, the amount the icing stretched no matter how slightly I moved it was unbelievable.
