Are my moms 1922 14k wedding bands worth more as gold or as rings?
My grandma ended up with 2 14k gold wedding bands from october 1,1922 during some sort of auction years ago, my mom is getting together old gold jewelry she doesn’t wear to sell and my grandma gave them to us. We then realized hold old they were, would it be worth more to sell them as jewelry or as gold?
You NEVER get much money when you sell gold jewelry as gold, it just doesn’t weigh enough and the gold is not pure – pure gold is 24KT so an item that is 12KT is only 50% gold in the first place. If these things must be sold try to sell them as jewelry.
