Frosted glass- can it be turned into regular glass?
I have a frosted glass light fixture I want to recycle in another piece but would like to know if the frosted look can be removed or if it is made as part of the glass itself. It is from the 40′s.
Yes it could be polished out, but I don’t think you would like to pay for it. Glass can be beveled (ground down then polished) so your glass could also be polished. However, it is just not practical, and it is out of the reach of almost all DIY projects. Glass polishing is also very costly. When polished, it may not even look the way you want it to, as it would be difficult to polish crevices and may be impossible to polish the inside of the glass. Take it to a glass shop and let them look at it.
