Recipe for a 2 tier chocolate and mascarpone cake serving 30?
Im making a chocolate and mascarpone cake for my birthday. it will be 2 tiers! any recipes ? and tips on how to do the tiers ??? and websites with cake recipes i can go to if anything!
Serving 30 will require a 10 or 12 inch tier and a 6 or 8 inch tier.
you can use one mix to makke 2 10-inch layers for the bottom tier, and another one to make the 2 layers of the second tier. I add 4 ounces of softened cream cheese to cake mixes to make the cake firmer for making the tiers. Take care not to overbake the chocolate!! very easy to do. I check about 5 minutes before the recommended timing is up. toothpick to center of cakes.
to stack: one large layer, filling on it, second large layer on that. filling on center of cake, filling on that layer, then the second small layer. Frost cake, then decorate as you wish.
to serve, slice the top tier first, then the second tier.
